Whistler

Whistler offers visitors something to do throughout the whole year. On the spectacular Highway 99, known as «Sea-to-Sky» you can enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding natural environment during the 2 1/2 hour journey. Whistler is North Americas number one ski resort. It guarantees snow and has over 200 official ski runs, halfpipes and slopes with deep snow. Enjoy the atmosphere of the pulsating nightlife. The winter season begins in November and ends in May.
Whistler has developed into a very modern holiday destination during the past few years. In 2010 the Winter Olympics will take place in Whistler and Vancouver. It is easy to find your way around this alpine village with approx. 10'000 locals. In the pedestrian zones and car free zones, you will find many cosy cafés and restaurants, exclusive shops and many hotels. Every year over 2 million visitors help to give the city a multicultural atmosphere.
Whistler has a lot to offer nature and moutain freaks in summer: bike tours and downhill routes, countless walking trails, crystal clear rivers and streams that you can swim in or go canoeing in, golf courses, tennis courts, as well as many festivals and local markets. The gletscher «Blackcomb's Horstmann» is open for skiing and snowboarding during the summer months.
