With more than 5.7 million inhabitants, Toronto is a big city. This cosmopolitan metropolis is also known as the 'City of Neighbourhood'. In the center of the city the glass towers of international companies and the financial world mirror each other. The surrounding area consists of a Mosaic of ethnic quarters: Chinatown, Little Italy, Greecetown, Latin America or Little Portugal. The city also offers a large range of restaurants and food specialities.
The CN-Tower is the highest TV tower in the world - it measures 553 meters from top to bottom. Enjoy the view and risk a peak through the glass bottom. Don't forget to visit the Amusement Park Ontario Place, the Metro Zoo and the world famous Niagara Falls. The many festivals, musicals, theaters, and concert halls offer a great variety of entertainment. Important centers such as the Ontario Science Centre, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Roy Thompson Concert Hall can be found in Toronto. The Eaton Centre, the trendy Queen Street and colourful street markets provide interesting shopping possibilities. The beach and small islands on the Lake of Ontario are very inviting for a stroll, to tank some sun, or just to relax.
Visit some of the many exhibitions that Toronto has to offer such as the "Toronto Wine and Cheese Show" in March, the "North by Northeast" Canadas biggest and most important music festival in June, the "Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival" in June/July, the "Toronto's Festival of Beer" in August, the "Canadian National Exhibition" in August/September or the "Toronto International Film Festival" in September.
