Buenos Aires
Not totally latin American, but also not totally European - Buenos Aires is a fascinating city which immediately engulfs its visitors with its many facets and uniqueness. The city is enchanting with its European feeling. It has approx. 2.8 million inhabitants (the agglomeration «Gran Buenos Aires» has approx. 12 million) and compared to other big cities, it is secure and clean. It is known as being the most elegant, and the busiest city in South America.
Approx. 40% of the inhabitants in Argentinia live in and around Buenos Aires. The city represents the essence of Argentinien culture. It is known as being very open towards other cultures, has modern architecture, many different restaurants, shopping centers and many individual cultural quarters. Old traditions are treasured and practised on a daily basis - the Tango for instance. In parks, in open areas in the city, and in dance halls - the Tango encompasses the passionate side of this fascinating society.

April/May: Feria Internacional del Libro (one of the most important book masses in the world)
August: Festival Internacional del Tango (International Tango Festival in different areas of the city, with Tango Workshops)
August/September: Campeonato Mundial del Tango (World championship, with workshops)
Second half of the year: Festival Pepsi Music (a big music festival with national and international bands)
